Ofsted-rated outstanding Montessori nursey, preschool and primary education for children aged 6 months to 11 years, set in picturesque woodland in the Yorkshire Dales. Wharfedale Montessori has been teaching children for over 25 years. Our children travel from Skipton, Ilkley, Addingham, Grassington – and even as far as Harrogate and Thornton-in-Craven. 3 settings provide mixed aged classrooms and Montessori teaching enables our children to achieve their full potential. Pre-school children also enjoy weekly forest school set in our own woodland.
Montessori pre-school – 3 to 6 years
The pre-school offers pre-primary mixed-aged Montessori education for children aged 3 to 6 years. Children enjoy practical life, sensory perceptions, then begin learning about maths, language, history, biology, geography and music, as well as painting and stories. Read more…
Montessori Primary School – 6 -11 years
One of the only primary age Montessori schools in the UK, our Primary classroom, the Cabin, is a custom-built log cabin building from Scandinavia, set in the school grounds. Here, a full Montessori primary provision is offered including maths and language, history and geography, zoology, ecological studies, music, a second language, arts and crafts, physics and chemistry, algebra and geometry, sports and technology.
